Tell us why you choose to contract?
I have always been interested in exploring contracting. And it has been a nice experience so far with the Beyond Recruitment Technology, Transformation & Digital contracting team’s help.
What do see as the advantages of contracting?
Definitely more money, flexibility and being able to explore different opportunities and technologies.
What changes have you seen in contracting over the last 18 months?
There are so many opportunities out there. I was seeing several friends and colleagues going contracting, so I decided to give it a go too.
How important is your relationship/partnership with your contracting recruiter?
My contracting recruiter acts like my agent – they check in with me from time to time and present me with other opportunities to interview in case I'm looking to switch companies. That's pretty awesome.
What would you say to anyone thinking about contracting?
Give it a try! Beyond Recruitment makes the transition easier than doing it by yourself.
Can you tell us why you decided to move from a permanent role to a contract?
My decision came from the realisation that I don't take enough leave or sick days to justify staying on a permanent job. As a childfree professional, it makes sense to be a bit more of a workaholic now and maybe move back to being a permanent worker later on.
What did you like about your onboarding process with Beyond Recruitment's Technology, Transformation & Digital contracting specialists?
The onboarding process was easy. Beyond Recruitment helped me with most of the questions and also recommended a good tool to use for accounting. There is some overhead in the transition from perm, to contract, of course. But Beyond Recruitment has reduced the number of blockers and complications people would otherwise face.
