We’re pleased to support Greater Wellington Regional Council in their search for a Business Integration Advisor, Kaitohutohu Mātāmua Metlink.

About the role:

It’s an exciting time to be in public transport, with a clear government mandate for public transport to deliver economic, social and environment benefits including addressing climate change. The Business Integration advisor will be a core enabling role in the design and delivery of a highly visible initiative that will improve and simplify transport for our Wellingtonian commuters. The Business Integration Advisor will lead the project management and support the implementation for one of Greater Wellington’s most significant public transport offering in recent years.  

At a national level, the Business Integration Advisor will be the lynchpin in Greater Wellington’s ongoing participation in one of New Zealand’s largest public transport development projects, the National Ticketing Solution (NTS). The role will report to the Manager Fares and Ticketing and work closely with various ticketing experts to ensure the development and integration of the NTS into Metlink operations is seamless.

Working with key internal and external partners, including Waka Kotahi and the NTS service providers, you will set clear project and engagement stakeholder plans and drive the evaluation of a variety of options / scenarios associated with NTS approaches and strategies.

Ultimately you will set clear budgets / forward plans and strategic milestones that will coordinate and galvanise a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders to achieve the overall project outcomes and timelines. 

Skills and experience we’re looking for:

•    Proven experience in project management, ideally in a complex change environment
•    Demonstrated leadership in stakeholder engagement
•    Experience working in transport, infrastructure, technology or customer centric design would be advantageous
•    Proven experience in engaging multiple diverse teams in a high pressure and/or political environment
•    A solid working knowledge of project management and planning tools, with technical capability to deliver detailed project plans / timelines
•    Solid experience in project budgeting and risk management
•    Significant experience in presenting complex information to senior leaders or politicians in a highly visual / compelling manner
•    Ability to manage work programmes in appropriate timeframes and budgets
•    Ability to work in a pressured environment demonstrating ability to support and direct quick decision making
•    Demonstrated analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills
•    Ability to anticipate and resolve project risks 
•    Exceptional oral, written communication and presentation skills, including writing reports and business cases 
•    Experience in implementing new technologies and global trends advantageous.
