We're seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Power BI Data Analyst for a 6-month contract based in an Auckland CBD office. Our client is on the hunt for someone who can come in fresh to an organisation who would like to deliver a key pilot project. 

You will be initially assessing their data and planning out a process to deliver PowerBI insights for a specific client of theirs with the intention of delivering insights that support that client to plan ahead and articulate costing trends, issues and opportunities.

There could be a potential for you to continue on with further projects after the initial pilot. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess the current state, discuss and arrange an approach suited to the organisations data with the key goals in mind.
• Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into effective visualizations.
• Extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from various sources, ensuring data quality and accuracy.
• Develop and implement data models to support reporting and analysis.
• Provide data-driven insights and recommendations to support business decision-making.
• Document data models, processes, and reports.
• Work closely with other analysts and IT professionals.
• Proactively identify opportunities to improve data visualization and reporting processes.
• Maintain high standards of data governance and security.
• Support current team members to learn about your journey.

Skills Required

Data Analysis and Solution Development:

• Develop and implement advanced analytical solutions to complex data-driven problems, ensuring high-end results for our clients, specifically in the Microsoft Power Platform and MS Azure.
• Utilize statistical methods and data analytics approaches to extract insights and inform decision-making.
• Design, develop, deploy and maintain client facing products based on MS Power BI and SharePoint.
• 2-5 years solid experience in creating mathematical and analytical solutions to data-driven problems.

Collaborative Project Execution:

• Work in tandem with Business Analysts and Software Engineers to devise and execute optimal strategies for client projects.
• Participate in cross-functional teams to ensure the integration of analytical solutions with broader project goals.

Technical Proficiency and Innovation:

• Proficient in Power BI.
• Demonstrate expertise in various ETL techniques and frameworks, both on-premises and cloud-based (particularly Azure), specifically within Power BI
• Maintain proficiency in Python, JavaScript, SQL, and other data visualization tools.
• Proficiency with Power BI and/or Power Platform, MS SharePoint
• Proficiency in Python, JavaScript, SQL,   
• Strong background in various ETL techniques and frameworks.   
• Experience with Azure or similar cloud-based solutions.

Communication and Reporting:

• Effectively communicate complex analytical concepts and findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Prepare clear, comprehensive reports and presentations that articulate the value and impact of analytical solutions.
• Deep understanding of data processing, data ingestion, and statistical analysis.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to articulate complex data concepts in a clear and accessible manner.
• Energetic and passionate about advancing technology standards in the field of data analysis.

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, data analytics, data science, data engineering, statistics or related field   
Certifications in Microsoft Products 
Certifications in Azure
