Beyond Recruitment is proud to partner with Te Rūnunga o Toa Rangatira in their search for a permanent Senior Advisor, People and Capability. In this varied and influential role, you will provide trusted advice and guidance to Rūnanga kaimahi and leaders on all people related matters.
About Te Rūnunga o Toa Rangatira:
Te Rūnunga o Toa Rangatira is the mandated iwi authority for Ngāti Toa Rangatira. Since its establishment in 1990, it has acted as the administrative body of iwi estates and assets. It also manages political and public interests on behalf of Ngāti Toa Rangatira including Tiriti claims and settlements, commercial and customary fisheries, health services (including primary mental health and residential care services), social services, central and local government relationships, and resource and environmental management. It is also responsible for commercial interests including a significant portfolio of property assets. Te Rūnunga o Toa Rangatira Incorporated is a non-profit incorporated society with charitable status.
Ngāti Toa is a strong, vibrant, and influential iwi – firmly grounded in their cultural identity and leading change to enable whānau wellbeing and prosperity. Ngāti Toa’s rohe extends from the Whangaehu River south along the ranges to Turkirae, crossing Raukawa Moana (Cook Strait) to Marlborough and Nelson. This is encapsulated in the tribal pepeha: Mai I Miria to Kakara ki Whitireia, whakawhiti te moana Raukawa, ki Wairau, ki Whakatū.
Their whāinga (mission) is to empower whānau, reclaim iwi self-determination, and revitalise our environment. They do this through leadership, innovation, connectedness, and exercising their rangatiratanga.
About the role:
The Senior Advisor People and Capability provides credible advice and guidance across the business. In this role, you will ensure that Managers and leaders across Te Rūnanga are familiar with and able to use the People and Capability policies, processes, and initiatives that are required for the business to be successful. These span the full range of generalist HR, and include capability development, retention, remuneration, and employment relationships.
You will provide advice to managers to ensure Te Rūnanga’s employment brand remains highly regarded and the culture remains aligned to the organisational values. You will demonstrate a Kaupapa Māori approach to your mahi – instilling a Te Ao Māori lens across all you do.
We anticipate the successful candidate will bring:
• Experience working in a Senior Advisor level role, with a track record of delivering advisory services across the full breadth of HR.
• Broad and deep experience of managing ER cases.
• Up to date understanding of People and Capability Compliance requirements and relevant legislation.
• Understanding of and commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and ability to work in a multi-cultural organisation.
