The Company:

This is a privately owned commercial contractor operating a non-corporate model taking on commercial project in the $20M - $100M region. These span various sectors including datacentres, education, apartments/mixed use, and specialist projects.  They are an employer of choice and have a culture second to none. With a steady work pipeline, this contractor is now ready to bring on board a Senior QS that can quickly fast track into a Commercial Manager, a key role looking to fill in the business. 


The Role:

Reporting to the Commercial Director and liaising with the project managers, you will assume a high-level financial management role. With a team of project QS's under you, you will assume the commercial outcomes of several projects under your responsibility.  You will be responsible for administration of subcontractor contracts, monitoring subcontractors to ensure they are undertaking works in accordance with contractual obligations, analysing costs, variations, final accounts, client meetings, resolving issues and liaising across multiple stakeholders.

Your background

You will need to be a degree or diploma qualified Quantity Surveyor with 10+ years’ experience on New Zealand projects over $20M in value gained with a Tier 1 or 2 main contractor. You have a proven history of delivering positive financial outcomes to a host of Auckland based projects. Your demonstrable ability to manage relationships with colleagues, project managers, engineers, architects, sub-contractors and tradespeople is a strength. You are strong technically and have an in depth understanding of contract detail.  You have driven, possess leadership skills and have ambition to move towards commercial manager level. 

Remuneration: $160K - $200K + Benefits
