About the role:
In this role you will head up and oversee all external stakeholder reporting, ensuring that group entities are accurately reported on to external stakeholders while complying with legislative requirements using the most relevant and up to date reporting frameworks. You will ensure the reporting team collects, processes, records, reconciles, complex financial information and you will oversee the preparation of high quality, accurate and timely statutory financial reporting. You will need to have experience managing a reporting team.
Duties:
- Manage and support the development of team members.
- Establishing and maintaining efficient and effective group-wide reporting frameworks, standards and policies related to financial, non-financial and co-governance reporting.
- Taking responsibility for successful implementation of new accounting and performance reporting standards, ensuring that reporting complies and is of a high standard.
- Leading the development of emerging reporting practises to ensure seamless integration with current business as usual processes and compliance with legislation and best practise.
- Respond to audit queries on more complex accounting areas.
- Critically evaluate the accounting for non-standard transactions and challenge where necessary.
- A tertiary degree qualification in finance, commerce, or similar.
- Professional registration with CAANZ, CFA or similar professional body preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years’ experience in a senior financial control role or similar.
- Experience responding to audit queries on more complex accounting areas.
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards, relevant legislation and generally accepted accounting practise
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills.
- Big 4 experience preferred.
